Will Google’s centre in Visakhapatnam be a survivor? Nobody knows. But even if it fails, it will leave a very valuable residue. India would still retain its new infrastructure and, most importantly, trained talent.

Google’s proposed $15 billion investment to build a large artificial intelligence (AI) and infrastructure project in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, is a turning point. India is going to become a global hub in AI development. Other AI multinationals will follow Google into India.
