Former Home and Away star turned radio presenter, Kate Ritchie, has revealed her “near-death experience” with a crocodile at a five-star resort in Far North Queensland. A juvenile crocodile shocked guests after it was discovered in the lagoon-style pool on Saturday afternoon.
A staff member from the Sheraton Mirage in Port Douglas confirmed toYahoo Australia over the weekend that there was a baby crocodile in the two-hectare swimming pool. They explained that guests were being advised to stay out of the water while the reptile was being relocated.

Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie shared a photo of Kate on Monday and described it as being a “near death” experience.
But a Nova spokesperson told Yahoo Lifestyle the encounter wasn’t as close as it may appear.
“This wild encounter involves me,” Kate said on-air Monday.
“You’re kidding me, did you call Robert Irwin to be saved?” a shocked Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli responded.
“Basically, I’m lucky to be alive,” she said.
“I had a near death experience… did you see the crocodile in the Sheraton pool on Saturday morning?”
Kate said that she was staying right where the crocodile was seen swimming.
Only, it wasn’t at the same time…
“I was in that cabana only a week ago… look at the photo of the crocodile in the pool, right?

“Yeah, and then you look at the photo of me on our Instagram looking into the pool on holidays a week ago – I know it’s a very long bow to draw…I could be dead.”
