Telstra has switched on the critical first section of its $1.6 billion national intercity fibre network that will connect Sydney and Melbourne, which the telco says is a major milestone enabling its investors to cash in on the artificial intelligence infrastructure boom.
The ambitious five-year project, known as the Aura network, is being delivered by Telstra’s InfraCo division under the leadership of former Microsoft Australia and New Zealand boss Steven Worrall.
