Jon Jones vs Alex Pereira for the BMF title? It’s the fight that UFC commentator Joe Rogan wants to see. Speaking on his ‘Joe Rogan Experience‘ podcast this past weekend, he discussed the potential of the former light heavyweight and heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, returning to action to face the current 205lbs champion, Alex Pereira.
October 4, 2025, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA: ALEX PEREIRA 13-3 of Sao Paolo, Brazil defeats MAGOMED ANKALAEV 21-2-1-1NC of Dagestan, Russia by TKO Strike at 1:20 of Round 1 during UFC 320 at the T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Las Vegas USA – ZUMAo117 20251004_zsp_o117_039 Copyright: xMikaelxOnax
He suggested that not only does Jon Jones vs Alex Pereira happen, but it should have the caveat of the BMF title on the line too.
“The big money fight is Alex (Pereira) and Jon Jones at the White House. Are you f*cking kidding me? Catchweight. Make it 225 pounds. Alex still is the light heavyweight champion; make it a catchweight fight. It doesn’t have to be for a title. Make it the ‘Bad Motherf*cker Upper Edition.’ You have the ‘BMF’ belt for 155ers. Who is the real BMF? Do you think any one of those guys can beat Alex Pereira? You think you can get a 155-pounder in there against Alex Pereira? Does Max Holloway survive against Alex Pereira? No! Shut the f*ck up. That’s the bad motherf*cker.”
Jon Jones vs Alex Pereira for the White House?
As Rogan stated during his podcast, he wants Jon Jones vs Alex Pereira to take place at the White House. To those not clued up or living under a rock, the UFC is planning a card on June 15th on the south lawn of the White House, backed by President Donald Trump.
As of yet, we don’t have any idea what fights may take place on the epic card, however, we can expect big things. Conor McGregor has already suggested that his return will feature on the card, however, a Jon Jones vs Alex Pereira fight would be huge.
Following his last fight, a dominant, quick and shocking victory over Magomed Ankalaev, Poatan decided not to call out Jones in the octagon, rather dedicating a moment of silence to the loss of Jones’ brother, however, he did make media and fans aware that he wanted to fight Jones during his press conference afterwards.
Jones seemingly retired earlier this year, relinquishing his belt and allowing Tom Aspinall to be upgraded to the undisputed heavyweight champion of the UFC. With that being said, he announced that he would be returning to action in order to fight on the White House card.
On July 4th, Jones re-entered the testing pool in order to be eligible to fight again soon.
There’s a good chance that we see this one go down, whether it will be at the White House or not, who knows. Will the ‘upper BMF’ title be on the line? It’s unlikely. With that being said, the potential of Jon Jones vs Alex Pereira is exciting.
