The chairman of Triple M owner Southern Cross Media says on-air hosts, producers and sales staff will be safe in the company’s takeover of Kerry Stokes’ Seven West Media, despite announcing it would save up to $30 million in costs.

Heith Mackay-Cruise refused repeated requests for an on-the-record interview about the proposed merger, and instead opted to sit for 12 minutes of softball questions from an unnamed member of Southern Cross’s podcast team. The video was published on the company’s investor page.
