Three Geelong players have all put pen to paper, signing a one year contract extension for the 2026 season

The Geelong Cats can announce defender Jed Bews, forward Oli Wiltshire and ruck Joe Pike have all signed one-year contract extensions, committing to the Club for 2026.

Bews has played 175 games for the Cats since being taken as a father-son selection in the 2011 National Draft and was part of the Cats’ 2022 Premiership triumph.

Following an injury-delayed start to 2025, Bews returned to the field during Round 11 of the VFL season, and played eight games at VFL level (averaging 19.5 disposals, 6.1 rebound 50s, 3.3 marks and 2.3 tackles a game) and four games at AFL level (averaging 14 disposals, 3.3 rebound 50s, 9 pressure acts and 306.8 metres gained) for the remainder of the season.

Wiltshire made his AFL debut in Round 7 this year, after being selected with pick 61 in the 2023 National Draft. Wiltshire was drafted from the Bellarine Football Netball League as a mature-age recruit and has been developing his game at VFL level this year after an injury-interrupted first season at the Club.

Wiltshire averaged 13.6 disposals across his 13 VFL games this year, as well as regularly hitting the scoreboard with 18 goals for the season.

Pike earned a spot on Geelong’s AFL list via the 2024 Rookie Draft, having impressed as a VFL player for the Cats last year.

A developing ruck, Pike continued to hone his craft in 2025, averaging 22 hitouts, 3.6 tackles and 10 disposals across his 17 VFL games this year, as well as kicking five majors across the course of the season on his way to a top-10 finish in the Club’s VFL Best & Fairest count.

Geelong Cats Executive General Manager of Football Andrew Mackie said the Club was pleased to retain the trio of players.

“Jed has been a valuable member of our football program for more than a decade, and we’re pleased to retain his experience on our list for 2026,” Mackie said.

“Oli and Joe are taking good steps in their development as AFL-listed footballers, and we’re looking forward to seeing them continue to learn and develop in our program in 2026.”
