Cam Bernasconi has named his extended squad of 24 ahead of the GIANTS’ final weekend of travel for the season.
The GIANTS have named four additional players in an extended squad ahead of their round 11 match-up with the Blues on Sunday.
Aliesha Newman re-enters the squad after previously performing strongly in a substitute role through rounds eight and nine.
With Alicia Eva ruled out for the remainder of the year, having injured her toe last week against the Dockers, Newman could cement her spot for the final two rounds as one of few AFLW players who can match it for pace with the veteran.
Claire Ransom, Eleanor Brown and Vivien Saad also come into contention as part of the additions to this week’s squad after convincing performances at AFLW scrimmage level across the year.
If selected in the final team it would be Ransom’s first match of the year at the level, while Saad would make her GIANTS debut in what would be her first game at AFLW level in over a year after partially rupturing her Achilles last September.
The final team will be named at 5pm Friday.
The GIANTS will face the Dockers in their final away game for the season at 3:05pm AEST this Sunday, October 26 at Ikon Park, Melbourne.
