French manufacturer Triangle has begun teasing the Capella 2, a second-generation streaming standmount that uses WiSA technology to eliminate the cable vomit caused by wires spilling from the back of the primary speaker.

This active 2-way features a 16.5cm “natural cellulose pulp” mid/bass driver paired with a horn-loaded 2.5cm magnesium alloy dome tweeter. Each driver is fed by a DAC whose output is juiced by a 50-Watt Class D amplifier; the DSP crossover – tweaked for this second-generation model – works at 3600Hz.

Piling on acoustic tech, Triangle’s DVAS (Driver Vibration Absorption System) promises reduced cabinet resonances, while a downward-firing bass reflex port provides what the press release calls “uniform low-frequency dispersion without affecting vocal clarity.”

Feeding each loudspeaker wirelessly is the external Stereo Hub 2, which features an Ethernet input and a subwoofer output – both absent from the first generation Capella’s hub. All wired and wireless sources connect to the hub, which then transmits a 24-bit/96kHz audio signal to each speaker with what Triangle claims is “no perceptible latency.” This hub-centric approach keeps all source cables away from the loudspeakers. Buh-bye cable vomit.

The hub offers three TOSLINK inputs, one coaxial, USB-B for computer audio, HDMI eARC with CEC for TV integration, plus standard RCA and 3.5mm analogue inputs. On streaming, we get Spotify Connect (with Lossless), Tidal Connect, Roon Ready, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, UPnP/DLNA and Bluetooth 5.2.

The company’s app (iOS and Android) includes automatic room calibration using either iOS devices or Triangle’s optional Zen calibration microphone. Manual EQ adjustment is available for those who prefer a hands-on tuning. A new radio-frequency remote replaces the first-gen model’s infrared unit.

Most obviously, the Stereo Hub 2 has also been styled to match the speakers with an elegant design that no longer demands to be tucked away out of sight. Triangle will offer the Capella 2 in five high-quality lacquer finishes, some with champagne-anodised aluminium accents: the returning Space White and Astral Blue, plus new options in Space Black, English Green and Oak. To these eyes, the Capella 2’s visual impact is not to be underestimated.

At €2499 for the complete system – both speakers and the Stereo Hub 2 – Triangle is lowering the Capella 2 into fiercely fought territory that already contains KEF’s LS50 Wireless II (€2799) and Technics’ SC-CX700 (€2799), neither of which tackles cable vomit with a hub. Manufacturing remains in Soissons, France, but you’ll need a little patience because the Capella 2 don’t begin shipping until early 2026.
