Alongside the HMD Fusion 2, HMD is also planning new Smart Outfits a.k.a. accessories for the upcoming smartphone. A leak has revealed the list of accessories which include both familiar ones and new ones such as a projector, camera grip, and speaker.
HMD’s Fusion smartphone is a modular smartphone reminiscent of the Moto Z series of the 2010s. With a second generation expected to be on the way, a leak has revealed the new Smart Outfits HMD has planned for the upcoming smartphone. Based on the list of accessories, HMD seems to have borrowed a leaf or two from Motorola’s Moto Mods.
Following an earlier leak revealing the key specifications of the HMD Fusion 2, the same source has revealed the list of second-generation Smart Outfits that will be released for the phone. According to the list, some of the Smart Outfits from the previous generation will be getting new iterations, such as a new Casual Outfit that now has an integrated kickstand.

Other outfits that will get renewed are the Rugged Outfit that adds extra protection and ups the dust and water resistance; the Gaming Outfit, which transforms the HMD Fusion into a handheld; the Wireless Charging Outfit that adds support for wireless charging; and the Flashy Outfit (available on Amazon for $29.99) with a built-in ring light.
In addition to the aforementioned, HMD is adding a Camera Grip Outfit, which we expect to be similar to the camera grips we have seen from brands such as Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, and even Belkin. Although the dual-camera combo (108MP + 8MP ultrawide) of the Fusion 2 doesn’t sound impressive enough to warrant this accessory.

The list also mentions a Speaker Outfit and a Smart Projector Outfit, both of which are reminiscent of the Moto Z series’ SoundBoost and InstaShare Moto Mods, respectively. Last but not least is a QR code & Barcode Scanner Outfit, which might be a useful outfit for those in the line of work who require scanning QR codes and barcodes, such as delivery associates.
All of these new accessories sound exciting, but their prices and availability will be determining factors for many buyers.
