Western Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli and long-time partner Neila Brenning have officially tied the knot.
The happy couple married at a luxury ranch in the Napa Valley in California on Thursday, just under 12 months after Bontempelli popped the question while on holiday in Italy.
Neila shared a snap of herself with Bontempelli in the background, while the couple’s Melbourne-based florist shared a series of photos from the occasion.

“Currently waiting to board my flight back to Melbourne and have had some time to process how incredible this week has been!” Andrea Sanchez wrote.
“I feel so grateful to have been given this opportunity. It was all so surreal and wonderful.
“Here are some in-between moments before, during and after setup for the beautiful wedding of Neila & Marcus.”

A host of Bontempelli’s teammates made the trip over to celebrate the wedding, which was preceded by the buck’s and hen’s parties in Las Vegas.
Cody Weightman, Aaron Naughton, Tom Liberatore, Ed Richards, Jason Johannisen, Rhylee West, Bailey Williams and Laith Vandermeer were among the guests, as well as coach Luke Beveridge and former teammates Lin Jong and Caleb Daniel.
The location would have been an easy trip for Brenning’s guests, given she is Canadian.
She met Bontempelli while on holiday in Western Australia after the 2021 grand final, which the Bulldogs lost to Melbourne.
Since then, she has been by Bontempelli’s side at all the major award nights.
Brenning also used to play ice hockey for the Melbourne Ice, but wasn’t included in the roster for the upcoming season.

Bontempelli, 29, has been unlucky to not win a Brownlow Medal in the past few years, but has won the AFLPA MVP three times, among a host of other individual accolades.
After winning his second Leigh Matthew Trophy in 2023, Bontempelli paid tribute to Brenning and his family.
“I’ll start with where it all begins and finishes, and that’s with my family, the support you get from people in your corner: my folks, three sisters and their partners, and especially my partner Neila,’’ Bontempelli said.
“Through all the good things and also the challenges at times, I’m so lucky to be so well supported through thick and thin, and family is one thing you can always rely on no matter what. Thank you to my family, it’s a special experience to have you all here with me.”
