The Bermuda Bicycle Association’s 2025 President’s Cup took riders on a demanding island-wide route today [Oct 26] starting on Front Street and finishing at Southlands Park.
A spokesperson said, “This year’s course was slightly revised to avoid several active roadwork areas, ensuring rider safety and minimising disruption. The Association extends sincere thanks to the Bermuda Police Service for their assistance in moving the race safely across the island, and to Lesley White, who recruited and coordinated an exceptional team of marshals. Working closely with police officers, the marshals managed key right-hand turns, guiding motorists and ensuring cyclists could navigate safely through intersections.
“Special appreciation is also extended to the Ministry of Public Works and the Works and Engineering team in Flatts, who paused their roadwork and cleared the route to allow the race to pass through smoothly.
“The race began on Front Street and remained neutral through Flatts due to last-minute roadwork, officially restarting at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo [BAMZ]. Once racing resumed, the peloton wasted no time testing their form over the 100-plus kilometre route, which included North Shore, The Causeway, Southside, and South Road before finishing at Southlands Park.
“Timing was provided by Peter Dunne, with Charles Thresh serving as Chief Referee and Howard Williams as Moto Referee.
