High drama helped drive the auction finale for Nine reno series.

It was full of drama for viewers and contestants alike, and last night The Block drew 2.39m (preliminary) viewers in National TV Audience.

That’s well up on last year’s grand final of 2.11m viewers rising to 2.19m for The Winner Announced.

It was around three times the size of The Voice (751,000), The Assembly (471,000) and The Dog House (189,000).

Later 60 Minutes drew 1.76m in preliminary viewers.

Nine easily won Sunday night with a 47.8% share.

Nine News was 1.48m.

Seven News drew 1.27m then 24 Hours in Police Custody (179,000).

ABC News scored 818,000 then Grand Designs Australia (201,000) and The Following Events are Based on a Pack of Lies (108,000).

10 News was 329,000 then 10 News+ (137,000) and Watson (81,000).

On SBS it was SBS World News (161,000 / 117,000), Seven Wonders of the Ancient World (163,000), King & Conqueror (129,000) and Dan Snow’s Greatest Discoveries (76,000).
