The Titans bounced back against the Warriors, while the Roosters remain unbeaten and the Cowboys go back-to-back to send the Raiders soul searching.

After trailing 32-0 at halftime, the competition newcomer Bulldogs restored some pride in the second half of their match before going down 42-22 to undefeated competition leaders and defending premiers Sydney Roosters.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys sent a statement to the rest of the competition after shutting out the Raiders 26-0 with their left edge wreaking havoc in the second half.

Earlier on Saturday, the Titans hung on to inflict the first defeat for the Warriors at home since the club’s return to the NRLW with a 20-10 win at Go Media Stadium.

NRLW Press Conference: Cowboys v Raiders – Round 4, 2025

Centre stage: While the forwards laid a solid platform up front, it was the speedsters who had a field day at Queensland Country Bank. Abigail Roach (two tries, one assist and three line breaks) and Jasmine Peters (one try, 164 metres and seven tackle breaks) tormented the Raiders’ defence from both sides of the field.

Full-time: The Cowboys have fired a warning shot to the rest of the competition after sending Canberra home scoreless. North Queensland have now gone back-to-back and shown they could be a real threat in 2025. The Raiders meanwhile are still chasing their first win of the season and were handed no favours after losing their halfback Zahara Temara (hamstring) prior to the match. With a completion rate of just 57 per cent it was a tough day out for the Raiders with skipper Simaima Taufa chalking up 42 tackles.

Match: Roosters v Bulldogs

Venue:
Allianz Stadium, Sydney

Fulltime wrap

After trailing 32-0 at halftime, the Bulldogs restored some pride in the second half before going down 42-22 to undefeated competition leaders and defending premiers Sydney Roosters. The win was the Roosters’ 10th in a row and they have the chance to equal Newcastle’s NRLW record of 11 consecutive wins – set in 2022 and 2023 – against Wests Tigers next weekend. It was an emphatic performance by the premiers but the NRLW newcomers showed the spirit within the team to fight back in the second half even when victory seemed beyond reach. Roosters captain Isabelle Kelly scored two tries and ran 239m with the ball, while making four line breaks, one try assist and eight tackle breaks, while prop Rima Butler also finished with two tries and made three line breaks while carrying the ball 125 metres.

76 min: The Dogs are in again after Robinson broke into the clear and drew Parker before passing to Quinlan to score. Roosters 42 Bulldogs 22.

75 min: Former Black Ferns international Monica Tagoai showed that the Bulldogs are refusing to give up after pushing off and beating six defenders to score a great consolation try. Roosters 42 Bulldogs 16

73 min: Mia Wood has scored the Roosters eighth try after a long Kelleher pass for Kelly, who passed for her winger to touch down in the corner. Roosters 42 Bulldogs 10

57 min: The Bulldogs fightback has hit a pause after Butler spun out of a tackle near her rivals tryline to score her second try of the match. Kelleher converted. Roosters 38 Bulldogs 10

52 min: McGregor has her second try in a virtual carbon copy of her first with Quinlan again firing a long pass to the 18-year-old. Preston missed the conversion. Roosters 32 Bulldogs 10.

46 min: McGregor scored on debut after a cut out pass from five-eighth Ash Quinlan created space for the rookie winger. Tayla Preston converted from the sideline.

Elizabeth MacGregor Try

38 min: Olivia Kernick has been placed on report for a hip drop on Bulldogs lock Holli Wheeler.

Halftime summary

The defending premiers and unbeaten competition leaders are teaching the NRLW newcomers a lesson with an emphatic first half performance. Sydney Roosters have only been behind on the scoreboard for seven of the 245 minutes they have played so far and that is set to extend by at least another 35 minutes as there seems no way back for the Bulldogs in the second half. The Roosters have their match up the middle – a strength of the ‘Dogs in their opening three games – and on the left and right edges where Isabelle Kelly and Jess Sergis are proving hard to handle. In a bit of bright news for the Bulldogs, fullback Andie Robinson passed her HIA and will return in the second half.

35 min: The Roosters lead 32-0 at halftime after hooker Keely Davis put prop Rima Butler over just seconds before the siren sounded. Kelleher converted. Roosters 32 Bulldogs 0.

Titans captain Georgia Hale: “I love the stadium so much. It brings back so many memories. I’ve got great relationships with the Warriors girls. I’m really proud to see them back in the competition. Just have a direct pathway out of New Zealand, out of our grassroots club footy that we’re all so passionate about, and it’s so nice to see girls also switching codes. It’s a game that we all love so much and to see, the whole nation get around it, to have games here with so many people sitting in the stands, I just love to see that and I support it from afar.

Fulltime wrap

The Titans have hung on to inflict the first defeat for the Warriors at home since the club’s return to the NRLW with a 20-10 win at Go Media Stadium. Led by returning captain Georgia Hale, the Kiwi Ferns skipper and a foundation Warriors player in 2018, the Titans dominated the first half to lead 14-4 at the interval. Jaime Chapman scored early in the second half but the Warriors worked their way back into the game. Warriors five-eighth Patricia Maliepo was a constant threat by the Titans left edge defence did a great job to shut down cross-code superstar Michaela Brake.

66 min: The Warriors have had their chances but when in good attacking positions there seems to be confusion as their playmakers have got into each other’s way. They need a try now or it’s game over.

61 min: Chapman’s kick-off has gone over the sideline, giving the Warriors another opportunity to get back into the game.

59 min: The Warriors have hit back with debutant Metanoia Fotu-Moala crashing over to score off a short ball from ball playing lock Laishon Albert-Jones. Maliepo converted. Titans 20 Warriors 10.

Halftime summary

The Titans have come to play and dominated the first half, but the Warriors can take encouragement from the fact that they are completing their sets at 87% and creating chances. It remains to be seen if Takimoana’s try just before the interval has wrested momentum back from the Titans but the Warriors have looked dangerous in good ball situations and five-eighth Patricia Maliepo is a constant threat. It is important for the home side to score first in the second half but the Titans are equally desperate after just one win from the opening three rounds.

34 min: The Warriors needed a try before halftime and it came through the NRLW’s leading tryscorer Payton Takimoana, who dived over in the corner after a bullet-like cutout pass from star five-eighth Patricia Maliepo to centre Emmanita Paki. The 2024 Queensland Origin representative spun out of a tackle and slipped a pass for her left edge wing partner to score her fifth try in four matches. Maliepo missed the conversion. Titans 14 Warriors 4.

27 min: Titans five-eighth Pauline Piliae-Rasabale gave the Warriors an attacking opportunity after fumbling the kick-off but a grubber in-goal sat up awkwardly for the chasers and failed to materialise in points.

25 min: Lily-Rose Kolc, who came off the bench after 15 minutes, made an immediate impact to score the Titans third try from dummy half following sustained pressure via ill discipline by the Warriors. Brown again missed the conversion. Titans 14 Warriors 0.
