With the NFL trade deadline exactly one week away, there have already been a few moves made.
On Monday, the Los Angeles Rams traded a 2026 conditional fifth-round pick to the Tennessee Titans for cornerback Roger McCreary and a 2026 sixth-round pick. The former second-round pick is on the final season of his rookie contract.

Roughly 24 hours later, the New England Patriots traded defensive end Keion White and a 2026 seventh-round pick to the San Francisco 49ers for a 2026 sixth-round pick. They also dealt safety Kyle Dugger and a seventh-round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick.
Although there’s no guarantee a blockbuster trade will go down between now and next Tuesday, there are three quarterbacks who should draw trade interest.

Kirk Cousins
It’s very apparent that Kirk Cousins’ days as the starting quarterback of the Atlanta Falcons are over. He only started in Week 8 because Michael Penix Jr. was nursing a knee injury.

At this stage in his career, Cousins is running out of time to compete on a playoff-contending team. Perhaps the Falcons can offload his contract and do the veteran quarterback a favor in the process.
If not, Cousins will almost certainly be released in the offseason.

Spencer Rattler
The New Orleans Saints decided Tuesday that rookie quarterback Tyler Shough will be their starter for Week 9 when they take on the Los Angeles Rams. He replaced Spencer Rattler during Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Rattler when 1-13 as a starter for the Saints over the past two seasons. Although he showed a lot of improvement this season by completing 68% of his passes, the reality is Kellen Moore didn’t select him.
Perhaps a quarterback-needy team like the Minnesota Vikings will show interest in Rattler. After all, he’d be a nice option for head coach Kevin O’Connell.

New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson (3) passes to a teammate before Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Jaylen Watson (35) can get to him, Sunday, September 21, 2025.
Russell Wilson
Prior to being benched by the New York Giants in Week 4, Russell Wilson had 778 passing yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions. After being sent to the bench, he let the NFL world know that he’s not ready to retire.

“For me, personally, I’m not done,” Wilson told reporters. “I’ve got so much belief in myself and I know what I’m capable of. I believe I was able to show it, especially on the road in Dallas.”
The days of Wilson being a franchise quarterback are long gone, but make no mistake, he can still occasionally light up the boxscore.
