CARLTON has received a boost ahead of next month’s Telstra AFL Draft with Academy prospects Harry Dean and Jack Ison officially nominating the Blues.

The nominations will see the Blues be able to match bids for the talented duo in November’s draft, with the paperwork lodged before the 31 October deadline.

Dean is a key defender who featured for the Murray Bushrangers and Vic Country in 2025, earning selection as an All Australian.

He is the son of dual premiership player Peter, who played 248 games for the Blues across 15 seasons.

Playing for Vic Metro and the Oakleigh Chargers, Ison is a Next Generation Academy prospect from the Yorta Yorta and Wiradjuri mobs.

A skilful left footer, Ison – who has trained alongside Dean in the Carlton Academy across the last few years – has shown potential across both the midfield and forward lines.

The 2025 Telstra AFL Draft will begin on Wednesday 19 November (first draft) and conclude on Thursday 20 November (remaining rounds) at Marvel Stadium, while the rookie draft will round things out on Friday 21 November.
