LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – After reaching the Atlantic Regional Final last season, the IUP women’s basketball team looks to build on its postseason success under fourth-year head coach Craig Carey.
The Crimson Hawks were picked to finish third in the PSAC West in the conference’s preseason coaches’ poll, trailing only Gannon and Seton Hill. The Golden Knights received seven first-place votes, while the Griffins received one. In the East, Lock Haven earned the top spot with six first-place votes, followed by Kutztown with three.
IUP will rely on a mix of veteran leadership and emerging underclassmen in 2025-26. Seniors Ellie Wilkerson and Nyshae’ Weaver both started all 28 games last season. Weaver was one of just two players in the PSAC—and fewer than 20 in Division II—to average a double-double, posting 14.8 points and 11 rebounds per game. Wilkerson provided steady perimeter shooting, hitting over 31 percent from three-point range, while fellow senior Marin Miller led the team from distance, connecting on more than 40 percent of her 54 attempts.
Sophomore forward Lily Jordan also returns after appearing in all 31 games last season and averaging more than 24 minutes per contest.
The Crimson Hawks will open their 2025-26 campaign Nov. 15 in Petersburg, Va., against Elizabeth City State.
