Ja Morant was suspended one game for conduct detrimental to the team following Memphis’ game against the Lakers on Friday.
The Memphis Grizzlies have suspended star point guard Ja Morant for one game for conduct detrimental to the team, per a statement released by the team on Saturday afternoon.
The issue reportedly stems from comments made by Morant following Memphis’ 117-112 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night, per ESPN’s Shams Charania. He will miss the team’s Sunday game against the Toronto Raptors (6 ET, League Pass).
Suspension comes as a result of Grizzlies coach Tuomas Iisalo challenging Morant’s leadership and effort in a postgame exchange after loss to the Lakers on Friday night — to which Morant responded in a tone deemed inappropriate, sources said. https://t.co/N31fGXkabw
