RYLAN Gray will next year become the second-youngest driver to represent Dick Johnson Racing in the ATCC/Supercars Championship.

Having been named to replace Will Davison full-time in 2026, Gray is due to make his first start for the famous Ford team at the age of 19 years and 91 days.

That will put him only behind Kai Allen in the all-time DJR list, the South Australian having been just 18 when he shared a Bathurst 1000 wildcard with Simona De Silvestro in 2023.

Currently second on the list is Andrew Thompson, from when he partnered Alex Davison in the 2007 Sandown 500.

Then comes Steven Johnson from his appearance in the 1994 season finale, Chaz Mostert after he took over from Jonny Reid mid-2013, and a young Will Davison co-driving with ‘Junior’ in the 2005 enduros.

Taking non-championship races into account, Cameron McConville would slot in ahead of Thompson.

DJR’s Gray decision comes as part of a broader youth movement in Supercars, with five rookies and the youngest-ever field anticipated in 2026.
