NANLITE has announced the PavoTube II 6CP, an upgraded version of its popular 10-inch LED tube light. The new model features a 10% brightness increase, 30% longer battery life, expanded color temperature range, and a new Gel mode with 460 LEE and Rosco filters, all while maintaining compatibility with existing PavoTube II 6C accessories.
The compact LED tube light market continues to evolve, with manufacturers refining their offerings based on real-world feedback. NANLITE’s latest release addresses key user demands for more power, better color control, and extended runtime in a portable package.
Nebula C4 color engine delivers enhanced performance
At the heart of the PavoTube II 6CP lies NANLITE’s proprietary Nebula C4 color light engine. The upgrade delivers 661 lux at 0.5m (5600K), representing a 10% improvement over the original PavoTube II 6C. The color temperature range has been significantly expanded to 2,400K-12,000K, compared to the more limited range of its predecessor.
Professional color tuning capabilities have also been enhanced, with green/magenta adjustment now extending to ±150 (up from ±100 on the 6C). This expanded adjustment range allows for more precise matching to camera sensors or other light sources on set. Color accuracy remains strong with CRI/TLCI averages of 95/95 and TM-30 Rf/Rg averages of 92/100.

The most notable addition to the PavoTube II 6CP is the new Gel mode, featuring 460 LEE and Rosco color filters built into the firmware. This digital gel library joins the existing CCT, HSI, and Effect modes, providing cinematographers with quick access to industry-standard color filters without carrying physical gels.
The fixture features 15 built-in lighting effects that simulate real-world scenarios. When connected to the NANLINK App 2.0, users can access 8 additional group effects by linking multiple fixtures together, enabling synchronized lighting setups for more complex productions.

The PavoTube II 6CP maintains the compact form factor that made its predecessor popular, measuring 25cm (just under 10 inches) in length and weighing only 267 grams. The polygonal body design incorporates built-in magnets for quick attachment to magnetic surfaces, with included iron plates extending this mounting capability to non-magnetic surfaces.
Standard 1/4″-20 threads at both ends and T12 tube sizing ensure compatibility with a wide range of lighting accessories. This standardization allows the fixture to integrate seamlessly into existing grip and rigging setups.

NANLITE has redesigned the user interface with an improved button layout and menu structure for more intuitive on-fixture operation. The PavoTube II 6CP also supports control via the NANLINK App 2.0, with built-in NFC functionality enabling quick pairing by simply tapping a compatible smartphone or tablet against the fixture’s NFC tag.
This dual control approach provides flexibility for different shooting scenarios, whether working solo with app control or operating multiple fixtures simultaneously from a mobile device.
Extended battery life addresses run-and-gun needs
Battery performance has been a priority in this update. The upgraded 3200mAh internal battery provides approximately 78 minutes of runtime at full power, a 30% increase over the PavoTube II 6C. For extended shoots, an optional battery grip accepts NP-F550 batteries (7.4V/2600mAh), adding roughly 2 hours of additional runtime. The fixture can be powered or charged via USB-C using either a DC 5V/2A adapter or PD adapter, though NANLITE notes that PD output defaults to 5V and fast charging is not supported.

Full compatibility with the existing PavoTube II 6C accessory ecosystem means users can continue using their current mounting hardware, modifiers, power solutions, and waterproofing accessories. This backward compatibility protects existing investments while providing an upgrade path for those seeking improved performance. The PavoTube II 6CP joins the PavoTube II 15C (2ft/77cm) and PavoTube II 30C (4ft/117cm) in NANLITE’s current lineup, offering the most portable option in the series with enhanced specifications over the original 6C model.
Price and availability
The NANLITE PavoTube II 6CP is shipping now at $89 USD (excluding local taxes). The fixture will be on display at SATIS and InterBEE throughout November 2025. Additional information is available here.
