Experienced Russian guard Alexey Shved has signed a short-term, two-month contract with Unics.
With this move, the club aims to bolster the team’s offensive firepower. Shved is one of the most renowned Russian basketball players of the modern era and a former NBA athlete, having played for CSKA Moscow, Khimki, and Dynamo Moscow in Europe, and for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets, and New York Knicks in the NBA.
In recent European seasons, he played for CSKA, then Zenit, and briefly for China’s Shanxi Loongs. Known for his excellent shooting and individual playmaking, Shved brings experience and an offensive arsenal that could help Unics maintain a top position in the VTB League.
Over his career, Shved has won the EuroLeague with CSKA and is regarded as one of the most talented Russian basketball players of the past decades.
