PETER Xiberras’ reputation for giving fresh talent a crack in Supercars machinery takes another step today.

PremiAir Racing is at Queensland Raceway today for an evaluation day involving Nash Morris, Nathan Herne and Cody Brewczynski.

For Morris, who races in Super2 for Tickford Autosport, the opportunity follows ride day laps with PremiAir in February – and is ultimately expected to lead to him getting the nod to co-drive with Richie Stanaway at The Bend and Bathurst.

Herne and PremiAir have now long flirted with the prospect of an official alliance, the Trans Am star’s first laps with the team coming back in 2022.

As for Brewczynski, a breakout season in V8 SuperUtes has culminated in these maiden laps in a Supercar.

Over the years, Xiberras has also offered chances to open-wheel ace Joey Mawson, Porsche frontrunners Harri Jones (before his 2025 Team 18 call-up) and Max Vidau, and others from Kaleb Ngatoa to Nic Carroll.

“There’s probably a thousand young men and women that would love to do this, and I’ve only got limited seats and all that sort of stuff,” Xiberras told V8 Sleuth when asked about his tendency to give the likes of Brewczynski a chance.

“I do like giving people a go.

“If it goes somewhere, great for them, and if it doesn’t, we’ll just give them a go and see what happens.”

Triple Eight rookie Zach Bates is also testing today at QR, ahead of his Repco Supercars Championship debut in next month’s Ipswich Super440.
