WE ARE COMING TO GET YOU!

Almanackers from the Barossa Valley before they began searching for cricket writers
for the upcoming Ashes Tests (picture supplied author)
Â
With only seventeen more sleeps before the first Test between Australia and England in Perth, chief selector Citrus Bob Utber is looking for writers to put on their pads and become a part of what has been labelled as an absorbing season.
Â
Suitably, writers will be able to score at least 500 words for a day’s play and if we get the numbers you will be allotted a day for the first two matches.
Â
Just send your name via ‘comments’ to Citrus and he will allocate you a day or better still name the day you could hold up an end and we will work around it. Otherwise email him at [email protected]
Â
Being the chief and sole selector, he will take the first ball on November 21st but if you want to be the batting partner on that day, fine. Two minds are better than one.
Â
This is your chance to make your mark as a cricketing scribe and bear the brunt of full frontal bumpers from fellow Knackers who regard themselves as experts of the great game.

About Bob Utber
At 86 years of age Citrus Bob is doing what he has always done since growing up on a small farm at Lang Lang. Talking, watching and writing sport and in recent years writing books. He lives in Mildura with his very considerate wife (Jenny) and a groodle named ‘Chloe on Flinders’ and can be found at Deakin 27 every day.
