Former San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Jonathan Feliciano took note of a recent update on the situation. He doesn’t seem surprised!
Wilkins signed a four-year deal worth $110 million with the franchise last offseason. Of that, $84.75 million was guaranteed money.
The Raiders voided the remaining $35.2 million of that deal this summer while parting ways. Initially, his recovery from a Jones fracture was believed to be the cause. That’s now shifted a bit.
Christian Wilkins is freaky.
That term can certainly apply to his play on the field. The defensive lineman is an athletic freak at 6-4 and 310 pounds. He’s enormous yet nimble; strong yet flexible.
Okay but why didn’t Christian Wilkins drop to a split on stage tho pic.twitter.com/NuhycqMoJ6

The tackle was a star at Clemson before moving onto the NFL. His production continued with the Miami Dolphins as he racked up 20.5 sacks and 45 tackles for loss across five seasons.
He joined Las Vegas in 2024. He played in just five games but will not have an opportunity to add to that total.
The Raiders dropped their injured star.
His rehab was at the forefront of that decision. More from ESPN:
Wilkins has been recovering from a Jones fracture, which he suffered in his left foot last October. Because of how Wilkins has treated rehab from his injury, the Raiders voided the remaining $35.2 million of guaranteed money left on his contract.
The belief was that Wilkins needed another surgery on his foot; he balked at getting it… The Raiders voided the guaranteed money left on his deal due to “failure to maintain his physical condition to play.”
“We have decided that it is in the best interests of the organization to move on from Christian Wilkins and he has been informed of his release,” the Raiders said in a statement.
“The franchise has a history of excellence on and off the field. With no clear path or plan for the future to return to play from Christian, the transaction is necessary for the entire organization to move forward and prepare for a new season.”
New details have emerged.
NFL insider Josina Anderson dropped some behind the scenes details from sources with inside knowledge of the situation. A locker room incident is now being discussed.
“Some league sources believe an incident involving a teammate may have factored in-part into the Raiders’ fatigue and release of Christian Wilkins, beyond management of his foot injury as the reported predominant cause.
“The Raiders have not officially confirmed an incident or a complaint involving Wilkins and a teammate, while another direct league source confirmed awareness of a situation in which ‘Christian [was] playing around.”

Not much else has been revealed about the incident in question. Former offensive lineman Jonathan Feliciano is not surprised to hear about the latest findings, though.
Christian Wilkins has a past.
Let’s not forget these pretty weird moments from Christian Wilkins in piles 😳😬 https://t.co/XJGgxzhdJ2 pic.twitter.com/5VrvAq1zaW

During a college football game against Ohio State, he was seen grabbing Curtis Samuel inappropriately after making a tackle. He chalked it up to “being silly” in an apology after the fact.
There was a similar incident that occurred with the Miami Dolphins, too. In that instance, Bills QB Josh Allen was the victim.
Jonathan Feliciano remembers those moments. His reaction to the news was not one of shock.
Brotha always been a lil freaky https://t.co/UsgrmZ4AvW

The alleged incident in the Raiders locker room may or may not be related to Wilkins’ “freaky” behavior. That information has not been made public.
Feliciano wouldn’t be surprised if the defender overstepped a line with a new teammate given his history.
