Former celebrity chef Pete Evans has been spotted looking almost unrecognisable while strolling barefoot and shirtless through the streets — a far cry from his polished TV days.

The former My Kitchen Rules judge was photographed this week carrying a gym bag and takeaway coffee, hair bleached blond and his appearance noticeably more rugged.

The 52-year-old, who once fronted one of Australia’s biggest cooking shows, has largely retreated from the spotlight in recent years after a string of controversies surrounding his outspoken views on health, vaccines and alternative medicine.

The long-time TV star has since focused on wellness projects and social media ventures, often promoting health alternatives.

Evans’ public appearances have become rare, but the latest photos — showing the former chef barefoot and dishevelled — have reignited discussion about his dramatic transformation since his RV heyday.

The father-of-two left My Kitchen Rules in 2020 after a decade on air, as his social media posts drew widespread backlash and saw him dropped by several sponsors.

While Evans has previously said he’s “never been happier” after his contract with Channel Seven was terminated in 2020 and he was fined for promoting a device he claimed could cure COVID-19.

His latest social media movements show Evans cooking at his Evolve Sanctuary retreats and it comes after the controversial celebrity chef discussed his downfall after leaving the public eye.
