WHAT THE STATS SAY

Strengths: Muñoz’ greatest strength in 2025 was his approach play. Strokes Gained: Approach is often the most important indicator of who is in form from week to week, and Munoz consistently gave himself birdie chances with his stellar iron game. He ranked 2nd in the league in Strokes Gained: Approach and was particularly dangerous with a wedge in his hand from 150 yards and in, where he also ranked 2nd.

Muñoz ranked 10th in the league in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee, which was due in large part to his driving accuracy rather than his driving distance. His ability to hit fairways while being one of the best iron players in the league paved the way for his breakout season.

After reaching the green with remarkable efficiency on a regular basis, Muñoz also had a strong season with the putter, ranking 15th in Strokes Gained: Putting.

Weaknesses: Muñoz ranked in the bottom half of the league in Strokes Gained: Approach (28th). Due to his 5th place ranking in Green in Regulation percentage, he didn’t have to rely much on his around the green play. However, if his ball striking isn’t quite as spectacular in 2026, he’ll need to improve in this area.

Muñoz was poor with his long irons (225+ yards) and ranked 43rd in Strokes Gained: Approach from that distance, losing 0.12 strokes to the field per round on average. He was able to take advantage of the shorter courses utilized by LIV Golf but will need to improve his long iron play if he’s to compete at some of LIV Golf’s most difficult tests.
