Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers are quietly leading the AFC North, fresh off a decisive defensive battle against the Indianapolis Colts. Now, Mike Tomlin’s squad is up against a similarly scrappy AFC squad in the Los Angeles Chargers.

Boasting an early-season MVP candidate in Justin Herbert, the Chargers have since gotten more mixed results from their star quarterback, and that’s largely because of the decimation of Herbert’s front, with both Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater — Los Angeles’ top two tackles — sidelined due to injury. The Steelers, meanwhile, are getting borderline top-10 passing production from the 41-year-old Rodgers, albeit more mercurial results from Tomlin’s defense, which finally came alive up front against the Colts.

T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith, the leading edge rushers on Pittsburgh’s “D,” may have plenty of opportunities to get after Herbert in this intra-conference showdown. But perhaps Herbert can outduel Rodgers to help the Bolts keep pace with the Denver Broncos in the AFC West. Either way, this is a must-see matchup under the prime-time lights. Stay tuned for live updates and analysis.
