PROVIDENCE. R.I. – The Brown women’s basketball team will travel to Worcester, Mass. on Wednesday night for a midweek matchup at Holy Cross. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Hart Center Arena.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
Scouting the Bears (0-1)
The Bears opened up the 2025-26 campaign on Friday, Nov. 7 in Nashville, Tenn., where they took on the Belmont Bruins. Brown dropped the contest 61-83.
Senior forward Alyssa Moreland started the season off strong when she posted double-doubles (22 pts., 11 rebs.) at Belmont. She led the team in scoring.
Junior guard Olivia Young had the second-most points for Brown with 13.
First-years Charlotte Adams-Lopez and Isabella Wesley made their first collegiate appearances against the Bruins.
Transfers Charlotte Climenhage and Monet Witherspoon also made their first appearances as Brown Bears. Witherspoon was tabbed NESCAC Rookie of the Year last season.
The Bears closed out the 2024-25 season 12-15 overall, and 6-8 in Ivy League play. They finished tied for fourth with Penn, with the Quakers finishing higher in RPI.
Brown finished non-conference play with a 6-7 mark.
The Bears were selected to finish fifth in the Ivy League Preseason Poll, which was announced by the conference on Oct. 23. Brown received 84 votes in the poll, in comparison to last year’s 71.
Scouting the Crusaders (1-1)
The Crusaders opened up their season at Boston College on Monday, Nov. 3, where they defeated the Eagles by one point (72-71).
In their last time on the floor, the Crusaders suffered a 48-91 loss at No. 7 Duke.
Meg Cahalan currently leads Holy Cross in scoring, averaging 13.0 points per game.
Holy Cross returns 10 players, and adds five new players to its roster.
The Crusaders closed out the 2024-25 season with a 19-12 overall record, and went 11-7 in conference play. They made it to the Patriot League semifinals where they ultimately lost to top-seeded Lehigh.
Holy Cross finished non-conference play with a 7-4 record last season.
The Crusaders were selected to finish fourth in the Patriot League Preseason Poll. They received 60 votes in the poll, with two first-place votes.
History
The Bears have a 3-9 record against Holy Cross dating back to 1982.
The teams met last season, with the Crusaders coming out on top (68-53).
