Two of the top teams in the National Hockey League’s Western Conference face off on Tuesday night, as the Anaheim Ducks pay a visit to the Colorado Avalanche.
The Avalanche have been unquestionably one of the more consistent teams in the league in the first month of the 2025-26 season. Thanks to the firepower of Nathan MacKinnon, Gabriel Landeskog and Cale Makar, Colorado has lost just once in regulation thus far, and sits atop the Central Division.
The Avs enter Tuesday night riding a three-game win streak, which includes wins over Tampa Bay Lightning and Vancouver Canucks, along with a 9-1 whipping of the Edmonton Oilers this past Saturday.
The most surprising start to the young season has been that of the Ducks. After years of being less than mediocre, the Quack Attack is off to a strong start thanks to a healthy balance of young and experienced talent. Anaheim has pushed itself to the top of the Pacific Division thanks to seven straight wins, coming out on top in nine of the team’s past 10 games.
