The New York Rangers have agreed to a two-year deal with goaltender Spencer Martin, general manager Chris Drury announced on Wednesday.
Martin, 30, had spent the beginning of the 2025-26 season in the Kontinental Hockey League with CSKA Moscow, posting a 2.69 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage in 14 games played before having his contract terminated on Tuesday.
The Oakville, Ont. native split time between the Carolina Hurricanes and Chicago Wolves (AHL) last season. He made nine NHL appearances for Carolina in 2024-25, carrying a 3-4-1 record, 3.89 goals-against average, and an .846 save percentage.
Martin, a third-round pick of Colorado in the 2013 draft, has compiled a 24-30-8 record, 3.56 GAA, and an .883 save percentage in 66 career games played at the NHL level with the Avalanche, Vancouver Canucks, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Hurricanes.
