When Sanam Teri Kasam (2016) became a big hit on its re-release, it was considered a fluke. But its lead actor Harshvardhan Rane silenced one and all with Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, which is all set to hit the Rs. 75 crore mark. Suddenly and rightly so, his next films are now keenly awaited as its clear that there’s a demand to see him on the big screen. His immediate next release is Silaa, directed by Omung Kumar of Mary Kom (2014) fame. He is joined by The Diplomat (2025) and Raksha Bandhan (2022) actress Sadia Khateeb and Karan Veer Mehra.
EXCLUSIVE: After super-success of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, all eyes now on Harshvardhan Rane’s next, Silaa: “50% of shoot is complete; its visuals are unlike Deewaniyat, Sanam Teri Kasam…we shot in world’s BIGGEST cave…”
Bollywood Hungama exclusively spoke to Harshvardhan Rane and asked about Silaa and when it will be released. He said, “It’ll be a 2026 release. We have shot 50% of the film. Once we are on the verge of completion, we’ll take a call. But the visuals of that film will not be anything that we have seen in Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat or Sanam Teri Kasam. The location is absolutely opposite of all my previous films, including Taish (2020).”
He continued, “We shot it in Vietnam. We have even filmed it in the world’s biggest cave.” It is called Son Doong Cave in Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park, Quảng Trị Province, Vietnam.
Birthday plans
2025 has truly been the year for Harshvardhan Rane. The year started with a bang with the re-release success of Sanam Teri Kasam, and it ends with another banger in the form of the super-hit, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. Will this birthday be even more special to him?
Harshvardhan smiled and replied, “For me, my celebration is that my producer is smiling. I am not interested in buying expensive vehicles, watches, or clothes. I live for people like Nilesh Sahay (with whom he’s committed to a film), Anshul Garg (producer of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat), Bejoy Nambiar (who directed him in Taish and Dange) etc., who put their faith in me. Even Sajid Khan for that matter. He’s an unassuming silent hero. After every film of mine that failed, he stood behind me like a rock. The same goes for my best friend, Minnakshi Das, and John Abraham sir. They told me, ‘You are on the right path. Just don’t listen to anything’.”
