Princess Eugenie Carries Out Royal Duty for King Charles Weeks After He Removed Ex-Prince Andrew’s Titles

  • November 13, 2025

The Gist

Princess Eugenie has undertaken a royal engagement on behalf of her uncle, King Charles, just weeks after he stripped her father, the former Prince Andrew, of all of his royal titles and privileges.

The King made the decision about his younger brother Andrew on October 30.

Since then, both Eugenie and her sister Princess Beatrice have been back to work, including Eugenie undertaking an engagement for The King’s Foundation this week.

Just like her sister Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie is dealing with the fallout surrounding her parents Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson by getting to work.

After trips out of the country—Beatrice to Saudi Arabia for work, Eugenie to Paris for a girls’ trip—both sisters have been at work in the U.K. supporting patronages that mean something to them. Earlier this week, Beatrice had back-to-back outings for Borne, a charity she is patron of, and Eugenie attended her first royal event since her father was stripped of all royal titles and privileges on October 30 by his brother, King Charles.

Per People, Eugenie spent time mentoring people under 35 years old at an event that was part of the 35th anniversary of her uncle Charles’s The King’s Foundation. Eugenie serves as a mentor to a group of people who, like her, work in areas like the arts and sustainability. Eugenie is not and has never been a full-time working royal, and she is employed as a director at the art gallery Hauser & Wirth in London.

Details of Eugenie’s outing were shared on November 13, and Eugenie said in a statement that “It was fantastic to spend more time with the 35 under 35, who are such an incredible group of talented young people. I have enjoyed getting to know them better and hearing about their work and aspirations, and look forward to supporting their journeys into the future.”

“My career has been shaped by a passion for the arts, so it’s a pleasure to be working with The King’s Foundation to support this inspirational group of artists and creatives,” she added.

Eugenie was one of about a dozen mentors that gathered with the group of under-35-year-olds at Broadwick Soho in London. One of the mentees, ceramicist Izzy Letty, said in a statement that it was “lovely” to spend time with Eugenie, adding that “getting her support on working with galleries will be invaluable to my work and craft.”

One week after Andrew’s titles were stripped on October 30, Beatrice and Eugenie were seen sharing a warm embrace on the street in London’s Mayfair district on November 6. Two days prior, Eugenie was seen out with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, in West London on November 4, appearing to laugh as they walked with friends.

Though Andrew has lost his princely title and his prestigious Duke of York title—and Ferguson has lost her Duchess of York title, as well—both Beatrice and Eugenie will retain their princess titles and their Her Royal Highness stylings.

“It’s a difficult time for them,” longtime royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told The Telegraph. “It’s deeply distressing, and they must feel it desperately.”

Royal biographer Ingrid Seward told The Times that “Beatrice and Eugenie would be embarrassed, but would never turn against their mum for what she had done. They might be angry, but they have always stood by her however ‘numb’ they might feel. They will be worried and saddened for both their mother and father, though, and anxious about the future for them.”

As for Andrew, “They both absolutely adore their father and want the best for him,” another source told the publication. “But they also crave privacy as much as possible.” A different source told the outlet that Beatrice and Eugenie are “also likeable, they carry themselves well, and work hard at their jobs.”
