Rookie co-ed group ALLDAY PROJECT has been gaining major attention since their explosive debut, but one member continues to steal the spotlight wherever she goes — Annie, the granddaughter of Shinsegae Group’s chairwoman and niece of the Samsung family line.
And now, Annie has revealed the surprisingly adorable story behind her stage name… and how it ended up becoming her English name, as well as her entire family’s go-to nickname.
During the group’s first-ever appearance on JTBC’s Knowing Brothers, Annie explained that her stage name wasn’t created by her agency or stylists — it actually came from her childhood. Annie is not her legal name as of the moment. Her real name is Moon Seoyoon, but she’s been using the English name Annie since her toddler days.
Annie revealed that she used the name mostly while living in the United States.
“My stage name Annie was given to me by my English kindergarten principal. I only used it in the U.S., but after my debut, even my parents call me Annie, and my mom calls herself ‘Annie’s mom.’”
ALLDAY PROJECT’s appearance on Knowing Brothers airs on November 15, and fans are already eager for more behind-the-scenes gems from Annie.
