Rookie forward Jared Davidson will make his NHL debut Saturday night against the visiting Boston Bruins.

Davidson will play on the fourth line alongside centre Joe Veleno and winger Brendan Gallagher.

Davidson, a 23-year-old from Edmonton, was selected in the fifth-round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft by the Habs.

He has nine goals and two assists over 13 games with the AHL’s Laval Rocket this season.

Ottawa Senators

After skating with the Sens for the first time since his thumb surgery, captain Brady Tkachuk was absent for Saturday’s skate ahead of their matchup against the visiting Los Angeles Kings.

Postmedia’s Bruce Garrioch reported Friday Tkachuk is expected to join the Sens on their upcoming three-game West coast road trip, beginning on Thursday against the Anaheim Ducks.

Tkachuk underwent surgery on Oct. 16 and was expected to need a recovery time of six-to-eight weeks.

The 26-year-old American has three assists over three games this season after netting 29 goals and 26 assists over 72 games in 2024-25.

Buffalo Sabres

Sabres captain Rasmus Dahlin returned to practice on Saturday after missing time due to personal reasons.

Dahlin, who hasn’t played since Nov. 6, took a leave of absence after his fiancée was recovering following a heart transplant.

The 25-year-old Swede, who was selected first overall by the Sabres in 2018, has one goal and eight assists over 14 games this season.

Forward Rutger McGroarty and goaltender Joel Blomqvist were assigned to the American Hockey League.
