Cricket: Jim Maxwell – England’s bowlers aren’t that good and won’t be able to bowl short in Australia

On Summer Grandstand – the Voice of Summer Jim Maxwell joined Corbin Middlemas and Ben Cameron to preview the Ashes series. 

While welcoming the potential debut of Brendan Doggett, Maxwell says the intended English bowling unit has not played much cricket and they will struggle on Australian pitches if they try to bowl too short. 

He also explained why he and BBC commentator Jonathan Agnew are flying around Australia during the Ashes series in a light aircraft.
