Ethyn Ewing was one of the stars of UFC 322 on Saturday night as he picked up a huge upset win over Malcolm Wellmaker.
The former A1 Combat bantamweight champion picked up his second victory in eight days in his short notice octagon debut at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The 27-year-old stepped in on just two days’ notice to face the undefeated Wellmaker after original opponent Cody Haddon suffered a foot injury that scratched him from the contest.
Ewing was able to show incredible heart and a granite chin early in the fight, and the longer the fight went, the better he got as he battled his way to a unanimous decision, his ninth straight victory, and the biggest win of his career.
