Barcelona have made their feelings clear on Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford.

The forward was sent out to Catalonia on a season-long loan after being deemed surplus to requirements by Reds’ head coach Ruben Amorim. The La Liga giants have the option to make his move permanent for £28 million in 2026, with reports from Sport suggesting Barca are already working to “outline an agreement” with United.

Rashford has impressed so far in Spain with six goals and nine assists across all competitions in a Barcelona shirt. The 28-year-old has the most assists of any player in Europe’s top five leagues.

And the Catalan club have appeared to suggest the secrets behind Rashford’s success so far in an update on their Instagram account on Sunday.

“Hard work is the secret to success,” the post said, alongside a video of Rashford training for Barcelona. The post has received a like from the United forward himself.

The 28-year-old has helped England secure a record-breaking qualification campaign for next Summer’s World Cup finals. Rashford assisted Harry Kane during Sunday’s 2-0 win in Albania as the Three Lions became the first European nation to win every qualification game without conceding a goal.

And Rashford has reflected on this in his latest Instagram post. “The perfect qualification!” he said, alongside several pictures of him in action against Albania.

“World Cup loading… thanks for all the support along the way.” Rashford’s post has received likes from United stars Bruno Fernandes, Joshua Zirkzee and Diogo Dalot in a show of support.

The United academy graduate has already made his stance on Barcelona clear – expressing a desire to stay at the club for many years. “I’m really enjoying my time in Spain; the weather is the best,” he said.

“A very big change. I’m learning every day, I’m enjoying it a lot. I hope to be here for a long time. I get along very well with Roony [Bardghji], also Jules [Kounde] or Frenkie [de Jong]. It’s a team in which we all mix. We are united. The team is fantastic. I just have to be in the right position.

“I’ll keep trying to do this. We have to keep it up to be our best version. We have a lot more to do this season.”
