All attempts to bet against the artificial intelligence boom have so far backfired as the so-called hyper-scalers of Silicon Valley suck in record amounts of capital and drive global sharemarkets to new highs.

Just ask Michael Burry, of The Big Short fame, who shut down Scion Capital soon after revealing bets against two of the biggest names of this year’s AI surge: data analysis software firm Palantir and chipmaker Nvidia.
