_Saiyaara_ is expected to remain steady on the weekdays and inch closer to a triple century. However, with the arrival of Ajay Devgn-Mrunal Thakur starrer Son of Sardaar 2 & Siddhant Chaturvedi-Triptii Dimri’s Dhadak 2, the romantic drama is expected to face a screen crunch in its third week. It is currently the 2nd highest Bollywood and Indian grosser globally of 2025 after Vicky Kaushal’s
_Chhaava_.
Before the release of the movie, director Mohit Suri spoke about Saiyaara’s comparison with Aashiqui 2 in an interview with Firstpost. He said, “When I made Zeher, they said it looked like Murder. When I made Ek Villain, they said it looked like Murder 2. When I made Malang, they said it looked like Ek Villain. When I made Aashiqui 2, they said it looked like Woh Lame and Rockstar. So I think when I go ahead and make my next film, they’ll say it looks like Saiyaara. I think when they’re comparing it to my own work rather than somebody else’s, it’s good.”
Saiyaara is directed by Mohit Suri, known for helming movies like Aashiqui 2, Ek Villain, Awarapan, Kalyug, Zeher, Murder 2, Woh Lamhe, Raaz: The Mystery Continues, Hamari Adhuri Kahani, Half Girlfriend, Crook, Ek Villain Returns & Malang.
Bankrolled by YRF, the movie also features Varun Badola & Rajesh Kumar in supporting roles.
