The Kitchener, Ont. native became the all-time franchise leader in games played (898) on Tuesday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets, passing longtime teammate and former captain Blake Wheeler.

Schiefele was the first player selected by the Jets in their return to Winnipeg from Atlanta, taken seventh overall in 2011.

In his 898 games with the club, Scheifele has put up 347 goals and 828 total points, both franchise records.

The 32-year-old Scheifele signed a seven-year contract with the Jets in 2023, which runs through the 2030-31 season.

In 18 games this season, Scheifele has put up 11 goals and 13 assists for a team-leading 24 points.
