Patti Newton has rubbished any speculation she has moved on from late husband Bert Newton with a “new man”.
Sharing some recent paparazzi photographs of herself on Instagram, where she was seen walking and hugging a male friend, the widow, 80, said the photographs made her “laugh”.
Patti insisted her late husband was the only man for her.

“I have to laugh at these photos that popped up on social media,” she wrote.
“I bumped into a man that has been serving me for years at David Jones and we said a quick hello.
“He is apparently my new man! There will only ever be Bert for me so they can say what they want! 🤣.”

One follower remarked underneath her post, “At least you look fabulous!”
Newton died in October 2021 at the age of 83.
Patti said the Aussie TV legend’s death had been caused by “complications with everything” to Daily Mail Australia.
Bert had also had a leg amputated.
Patti and Bert married back in 1974 and enjoyed a fairytale romance.
Earlier this month, she shared a video with fans on Instagram, showing black and white footage from their wedding day and reflecting on the love they shared.

“What A Day!! 1974 Ten thousand people watched Bert and I get married at Saint Dominic’s,” she wrote in her post.
“The start of a beautiful life with the love of my life. Wonderful memories so lucky to have had him. We loved the crowd coming to see us, a day I’ll never forget.”

Bert is survived by their two children, Lauren and Matthew, as well as their grandchildren.
