Florida Panthers forward Eetu Luostarinen is out week-to-week after being burned in a barbecue accident, head coach Paul Maurice told reporters Wednesday.

Maurice said via team reporter Jameson Olive that Luostarinen did not need to stay overnight at the hospital and added that his return timeline will depend on how he feels when he puts his hockey gear on.

More on Luostarinen’s burns:

Maurice said he didn’t need to stay overnight at the hospital or anything, so that’s good. A lot of his return will depend on how he feels when he puts his gear on

Luostarinen missed Monday’s game against the Vancouver Canucks with a lower-body injury.

The 27-year-old centre has three goals and seven assists for 10 points in 18 games this season prior to the incident. He’s coming off a strong playoff run in which he posted five goals and 19 points in 23 games to help Florida repeat as Stanley Cup champions.

Meanwhile, Maurice said forward Cole Schwindt will likely miss between two and three months with a broken arm that will require surgery. He left Monday’s game against the Canucks.

Schwindt, 24, has two goals in 10 games so far this season.

The Panthers (10-8-1) enter play Wednesday sixth in the Atlantic Division with 21 points in 19 games. The team has dealt with a long list of injuries, with stars Aleksander Barkov and Matthew Tkachuk yet to play this season.

Florida will be back in action Thursday evening at home against the New Jersey Devils.
