It’s crunch time as the RSM Classic brings down the curtain on the 2025 FedEx Cup Fall Series…
Several household names are in danger of losing their PGA Tour card as the 2025 season draws to a close on Sea Island this week.
So who’s teeing up in the RSM Classic and battling for a shot at one more year? And whose race is already run?
Before we get into it – a quick reminder that anyone inside the top 100 in the FedEx Cup standings following the conclusion of the Fall Series will earn a PGA Tour card, while players ranked 101st to 125th will receive conditional status for 2026, meaning their opportunities will be limited.
Right, let’s dive in.
Big names battling for their PGA Tour cards
The following players are teeing up at this week’s RSM Classic in a bid to retain their playing rights in 2026…
Matt Wallace
The Englishman skipped the lucrative DP World Tour Playoffs to play in the Fall Series in an attempt to secure his PGA Tour playing rights for next season, but three missed cuts have seen him fall to 102nd going into the final week.
Matt Kuchar
The nine-time PGA Tour champion clung onto his card this time last year by finishing in the top 125, and he’s got work to do if he’s going to do it again. The American is currently 113th heading to Sea Island.
Joel Dahmen
A tie for 35th at last year’s RSM Classic was enough for Dahmen to cling onto a top 125 spot. And the popular American, currently in 117th, is going to need to do it again.
Brandt Snedeker
The first player on the list outside the 125 is Snedeker in 126th. The 2012 FedEx Cup champion’s status this year was down to his position in the top 50 of the PGA Tour career money list. But players are only allowed to use that wildcard once, so unless he can pull something out the bag at Sea Island, the American will have plenty of time to concentrate on his Presidents Cup duties.
Cameron Champ
Remember when this guy was the next big thing? The Californian bomber won three times in his first four seasons on the PGA Tour. He’s now winless in over four years and finds himself in 146th, needing a big result to keep his card.
Kevin Kisner
Kisner seems settled in his role as a TV pundit and Ryder Cup hypeman these days, but he kept his card in 2025 due to being in the top 50 of the PGA Tour career money list. He’s now in 69th on that list, and 194th in the FedEx Fall standings, so he needs a very good week if he wants to get his clubs out next year.
Anyone else?
It’s also worth noting that Francesco Molinari (186th) will not retain his PGA Tour card for next season. Which might be a blessing in disguise if, as expected, he is to be handed the Ryder Cup captaincy in the coming weeks.
Danny Willett (170th) kept his card this year on a “major medical extension” basis, but it’s unlikely that will continue into next year, though that will almost certainly be the case for Will Zalatoris (150th), who played just 11 times this year having undergone yet more surgery on his back.

Meanwhile, 2023 Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson (140th) is in the field at the RSM Classic. And if he can’t do something special to move up the standings, he will, like Snedeker this year, have to use his career money list joker.
