Partizan’s captain Vanja Marinkovic spoke for the official club platform Part+ about many topics, including false rumors spreading online.
One of the topics was social media, which Marinkovic deleted a few years ago — and he explained why:
“I had one, but I deleted it; I shut it down entirely one evening while I was in Spain. Today, many people use social media to promote themselves. Sponsors come and ask you to advertise. That’s normal; everyone has their own perspective.”
Marinkovic added:
“For me, it’s a waste of time, and you don’t have much of it when you’re a basketball player, especially with this kind of schedule these days. You waste energy on unimportant things, reading unimportant comments.”
He then talked specifically about those comments and addressed the false rumor involving him and Jabari Parker that was circulating online:
“You know, I got a comment a few days ago… They said: ‘You got into a fight with Jabari Parker in practice, is it true?’ They said: ‘Yeah, man, we heard someone slapped him.’ These are not just stupidities — they are absolutely the worst nonsense; it’s all lies.”
“This is the era we live in; everyone has the right to say whatever they want. Some people like it, some don’t… What matters to me is what the people closest to me think and the team I’m currently working with.”
Vanja Marinkovic was injured for a period but will return to the lineup tomorrow against Fenerbahçe. Jabari Parker was also absent due to the death of a close family member but will also play tomorrow.
