Adolis García is no longer a Ranger.

The franchise non-tendered García ahead of Friday’s deadline after a disappointing 2025 season.

García slashed a career-worst .227/.271/.394 with 19 home runs last season.

And he wasn’t much better the year before, hitting .224/.284/.400 with 25 long balls.

The Rangers also non-tendered catcher Jonah Heim and right-handers Josh Sborz and Jacob Webb.

“I’d like to express the club’s sincere appreciation for the efforts of each of the four players included in today’s announcement,” Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young said in a statement after the moves.

“Regardless of what happens moving forward, Adolis, Jonah, and Josh will always be remembered for their contributions to the first World Series title in franchise history. Those memories will forever hold a special place in the hearts of Rangers fans. We are grateful for their time in Texas and the mark they have left on this franchise.”

As recently as two seasons ago, García, 32, was one of the best hitters in baseball.

In 2023, García, who has spent his entire seven-year big league career with Texas, posted an .836 OPS with 39 home runs and 107 RBIs en route to his second All-Star appearance and his first and only Gold Glove award.

García was the hero of the Rangers’ championship run that year, winning the American League Championship Series MVP and hitting .323/.382/.726 with eight homers and 22 RBIs overall that postseason.

He was projected to make about $12 million in arbitration.

The Rangers are apparently retooling this offseason after two straight disappointing campaigns since that World Series win, finishing outside the playoff picture and in third place in the AL West in both seasons.
