Up to a third of beds in Roscommon’s psychiatric unit are taken up by people who should be cared for in the community.
That’s according to Ballygar GP and Fianna Fáil TD Martin Daly, who was speaking in the Dáil this week.
There are 24 beds in Roscommon’s psychiatric unit – but there are plans for a new 50-bed unit.
Deputy Daly says there’s a shortage of community care also.
