Nikita Zadorov assisted on both goals, the first of which came in the third period and was the first goal of the game. The winner came less than two and a half minutes into the extra period.
The Sharks are 10-8-3, but have won their last three overtime games and six of seven that required extra time following their 0-4-2 start to the season. San Jose’s current two-game winning streak started with a 3-2 overtime win over the Utah Mammoth on Tuesday and then continued with a 4-3 shootout win over the Kings. Yaroslav Askarov was in net for each of the last two, the first of which was all about Macklin Celebrini, who had a hat trick to give him 13 goals on the season, and the second saw Philipp Kurashev score a go-ahead goal late in the second period and then provide the only scoring in the shootout.
