One of the interesting things about the modern hobby is that with the advent of print-on-demand sets like Topps Now, nary an event of any note passes without cards to commemorate it.

In recent years, Topps has upped this to include entire sets to commemorate things like Shohei Ohtani’s 50/50 season or Ohtani’s 3rd MVP award last year. This year, they release a set to celebrate two hobby giants, Ohtani (again), and slugger Aaron Judge, the 2025 National and American League MVP’s (respectively).

But what will collectors find inside 2025 Topps MLB MVP Collection Ohtani & Judge? When is the set releasing? What does a hobby box contain? And are these worth a break?

2025 Topps MLB MVP Collection value

2025 Topps MLB MVP Collection is a high-dollar, hit-driven product that celebrates the 2025 MVP winners. But what is the value proposition on these?

It is admittedly, a hard thing to guess at. Sure, Topps has produced sets like Shohei Ohtani 50/50 and Shohei Ohtani: Welcome to the Club 3X MVP. But these products sold at a much lower price point than the $2,000+ that 2025 Topps MLB MVP Collection pre-sold for.

The high end nature of these cards, including some impressive autograph (with cut autographs) will surely give these appeal to collectors. The fact that the subject matter is two of the hottest names in the hobby doesn’t hurt any either. Another good sign? That fact that even at a healthy $2,000 per box, these sold out in moments.

So, I expect the rarest parallels and autograph parallels to fetch some handsome sums. Less rare parallels and base cards will have some value, although not so much that these cards aren’t without risk at the sky-high buy-in price.

If you happened to grab one of these during the pre-sale, keep an eye on prices on the secondary market. The safest path to value may be a quick resale.

2025 Topps MLB MVP Collection pros & cons

All hobby products have pros and cons that you should consider when deciding whether to purchase or not. What are some of the pros and cons of 2025 Topps MLB MVP Collection?

Pros

There’s some appeal in an entire set filled with cards of two of the hottest names in the hobby.

With 5 encased cards per box and a chance at some impressive hits, these certainly have the making of an exciting (if expensive and fast) break.

Cons

The price, though, the price. $2,000 for 5 cards is really steep. And that’s the pre-sale price. On the secondary market, who knows what these will do.

While these are sure to be popular upon release, the long-term appeal of these cards is still a little bit up in the air. Will these hold value in the long term?

Final thoughts on 2025 Topps MLB MVP Collection Ohtani & Judge

2025 Topps MLB MVP Collection Ohtani & Judge is an online exclusive with encased cards of the two hottest players in the game and the hobby, Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani.

These have some really nice looking hits, but the price tag, even on pre-sale, should give collectors pause. Yet, these sold out in moments…so who knows?
