Kyrgyzstan will send 12 strong boxers to the upcoming IBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships which will be held at the Dubai Tennis Stadium on December 2-13.
Mr. Daniyar Tologon Uulu, the head coach of the national team, and a former Asian Championships silver medallist, Mr. Kenzhebek Akelbayev have been supporting the preparation of their dozen of boxers.
The teams can arrive to Dubai on November 30, the first competition day is December 3 while the finals are schedule to be held on December 13.
The total prize money of the IBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships will be 8.32 million US dollars and the best 104 boxers can earn these amounts in Dubai.
Anvarzhan Khodzhiyev is a technician boxer with unexpected movements and the Strandja Memorial Tournament winner moved back to the minimumweight (48kg). Mirlan Turkbay Uulu is one of the veterans in Kyrgyzstan and the 35-year-old flyweight (51kg) boxer decided to return to the squad.
Sanzhai Seidakmatov was quarter-finalist in the last two editions of the World Boxing Championships and the 25-year-old boxer is aiming higher this time in Dubai. Their next ace at the lightweight (60kg), Ryspek Bektenov was bronze medallist in the last edition of the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in Chiang Mai.
The reigning ASBC Asian U22 Champion Omar Livaza has excellent technical skills and he has the chance to reach another highlight in Dubai. The ASBC Asian Youth Champion Almaz Orozbekov (67kg) will turn 20 only after the Dubai event but he has strong experience from all of the international events.
Ikhtiyar Nishonov claimed gold medals in various international tournaments in the recent one year and the 22-year-old boxer is a strong hope at the light middleweight (71kg). Syrgak Abdyzhapar Uulu will be competing at the middleweight (75kg) and he defeated several tough opponents during his career.
Omurbek Bekzhigit Uulu has six years of international experience in the national team and the World quarter-finalist will compete at the light heavyweight (80kg). Erkin Adylbek Uulu is Kyrgyzstan’s next strong veteran after Mirlan Turkbay Uulu who has several medals from the Asian Championships and more than 300 contests.
The 23-year-old Bakyt Toktosun Uulu is Kyrgyzstan’s best heavyweight (92kg) boxer with several national titles in his background. Kyrgyzstan found finally a top super heavyweight (+92kg) boxers after so many years and their 19-year-old Myrzakir Koshaliyev is the defending ASBC Asian U22 Champion.
