In the men’s, Aussies were coming in full steam securing the first two wins of the day, with top seed James Duckworth and fellow Sydney-sider Dane Sweeny both winning their matches in straight sets.
Continuing her run, defending champion Maddison Inglis (AUS) defeated her opponent, alongside fellow Aussie and No.2 seed Talia Gibson who battled past Elena Micic (AUS) in three sets.
20-year-old Taylah Preston (AUS) caused an upset knocking out the top seed, Ukrainian Yuliia Starodubtseva, 6-0 6-4.
Unfortunately, the remainder of matches were washed out and will be completed tomorrow as we head into a busy Day 7 of the tournament.
