Junior rugby league registrations are now open for the 2026 season in the St George District with families set to benefit again from one of the most supportive and accessible junior sport programs in the region.
Fresh off a record-breaking year of participation, St George District will once again offer free registration for all Mini and Mod League players (U6-U12) and a $100 subsidy for all female tackle participants (U13+) ensuring more boys and girls can take part in the game with fewer financial barriers.
“Our goal is to make rugby league accessible for every family in the St George District,” St George District Chairman Craig Young said.
“By offering free registration for our youngest players and a subsidy for female tackle participants, we’re continuing to open doors for more kids to get involved in the game and fall in love with it.”

The initiative, proudly provided by St George Leagues Club and supported by St George District Rugby League Football Club, continues the district’s commitment to keeping rugby league inclusive, affordable, and community focused.

Junior rugby league provides children with the chance to develop new skills, make new friends, and enjoy the physical and social benefits of being part of a team environment.
For families juggling multiple registrations, the support is significant. Natalie, an Arncliffe Scots mum with seven children playing the game, said the initiative has been a game-changer for her household.
“The free rego and female tackle support makes things so much easier for families,” Natalie said.

The 2026 St George Junior Rugby League season kicks off on Saturday, April 4 with the district now home to nearly 2,000 players competing from Under 6s through to Open Age across Tackle and League Tag formats.
